Modern Slavery Statement
This statement is made by DNAe Group Holdings Ltd (DNAe) to comply with section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (the Act) and constitutes our group’s slavery and human trafficking statement. DNAe is committed to improving our practices to combat slavery and human trafficking.
Our business and structure
DNAe is a research-based company, with offices in London and California. We have over 120 employees and operate in two countries. Our mission is to bring dramatic, life-changing improvements to healthcare and beyond with fast, simple and scientifically sound products. To this end, we apply the best scientific skills and energy to build an evolving and innovative suite of electronic microchip-based solutions that delivers faster, simpler and more cost-effective DNA analysis.
Our supply chains
We have zero tolerance to slavery and human trafficking. To ensure all those in our supply chain and contractors comply with our values we have reviewed the risks that our supply chains can present and whilst we consider our exposure to modern slavery to be limited, we expect our suppliers and contractors to demonstrate a zero-tolerance approach to exploitation.
To this end, all new contracts and those renewing, now include a clause requiring that our suppliers, and their subcontractors, comply with the Act, and include our right to terminate in the instance of any breach of this obligation.
Taking action
As part of our procurement process, we will only engage with suppliers and contractors who confirm their compliance with the Act. Our peopleWe have promoted to all our employees that Modern Slavery is a global problem that affects us all. We have shared examples of how individuals can unwittingly be part of the cycle. We have highlighted that everyone has a vital role to play in tackling the issue.
We have adapted and re-promoted our existing corporate policies to incorporate modern slavery and human trafficking issues, including our whistleblowing policy which allows employees to report any concerns confidentially. During the last financial year all staff across the entire organisation completed a specific training course to increase their awareness of modern slavery and human trafficking so that they are able to understand, identify and be able to report on these risks.
Due diligence processes for slavery and human trafficking
All of our staff with responsibility for entering into third party contracts are trained on the importance of ensuring that those contracts include the relevant provisions referred to above.
We have a clear commitment to investigating robustly all matters to which we are alerted under our Whistleblowing Policy in relation to which we deliver full training.
